Hi Everybody
My name is Wes St. Jon and I live in Nashville, Tn. When you fill up your car, truck, or SUV at the gas station, do you ever think about where that gasoline comes from - how it gets to the pumps? Most people do not! But there are a group of people who work every day, in every kind of weather, in danger levels one step down from the military, in my opinion, to get the oil and natural gas out of the ground so it can be refined into gasoline and diesel for our vehicles, and the natural gas pipelined to our homes and factories for heating and production. These men and women of the oilfield are the most unappreciated group of people in the country! They never get any thanks for their hard work and no one knows hardly anything about them. I entertained in Louisiana for a while, and had the chance to meet many of these hard working guys and gals. They used to tease me about doing an Oilfield Song, then they would laugh because there was no oilfield music! I got the idea that it would be neat to do some music for them, so I "hung out" with the crews for about six months, learned their terminology, wrote ten songs about their lifestyle, and went to Nashville and did an album just for them. So the Oilfield Cowboy CD is a composition of ten songs telling about the life and people who drill for oil. It is educational for those of you who do not know anything about the oilfield, and very entertaining for the people who work in that industry - as it is music about their life! All of the pickers on every song are Nashville session players. It is great country music, different than your everyday country, and educational and fun to listen to. With the high price of gasoline right now, everyone is getting more aware of our energy needs. This CD will teach you about some of the people who are helping keep our country''s wheels turning, and give you 30 minutes of enjoyment if you like great country music! There is a station in Vernal, Utah that plays Adult Contemporary music, and they have been playing the fourth cut from this CD for five years. They say that this song has been one of, if not The most requested song on their station for that entire time. Pretty incredible! Please get yourself a copy - I know you will be glad you did!
