I was born in Memphis Tennessee on March 30, 1982 to Willie and Geneva Johnson, Pastor and wife of the Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ. I was raised in two different locations throughout my entire childhood Memphis TN and Kennett, MO. My father has been the pastor of the Lighthouse Church in Kennett for over 25 years and we have traveled between the two cities for 17 years until his retirement from First American Bank of Memphis TN in 1999. Currently residing in Kennett, God has placed many hats upon me. I am the Minister of Music and Youth President in our church.
I began playing drums at the age of 2 and my quest from there began. God allowed me to learn how to play the Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar, Keyboards and Organ, all on a Professional level giving me the opportunity to grace the stage of several well-known National and Local Recording Artist.
In the year 2000, I was enrolled into what is now, Northeastern Arkansas State University, with a full music scholarship-vocal and production as well as Business Administration. In 2001, I graduated from the Recording Workshop of Chillicothe, OH with Audio Engineering and Production Certifications that allowed me to open an Independent Record Label called Javon Records. In 2002, I completed my Business Administration and Management Courses at Three Rivers Community College in the Top 20% of the Class.
Javon Records has evolved into a well-known Missouri Icon which allowed me to work in different departments of the Music Industry such as Pre and Post Productions, Artist Development, Manufacturing and Distribution, Live Sound Recording and Engineering, Video Editing and Sync, Marketing and Promotions. I have assisted local as well as National Recording Artist such as The True Gospel Wright Singers, Chris McGee, The Sons of Lighthouse, The Spiritualettes, Mary-Mary, Lil Blair and the Violinaries Pastor Roney Strong and the Strong Family, The Gospel 4 and Pastor Tim Rogers and the Fellas.
