In 1999, I was driving my crappy rust-ish-navy-ish blue-ish Nissan pickup truck to my first job waiting tables at Guerro''s, a tiny tex-mex restaurant in Coppell, Texas. As I was driving, an irresistible urge towards music as a career had been crawling up my spine, so I stopped to itch it and to think about how to make this idea turn into a reality. I decided I needed to be in a band. Coincidentally, as I worked my first shift, I met a sweet guitar player named Christa. After work, she played "Every Rose Has It''s Thorn" for me and I became completely hooked. Not on Poison, per se - the guitar.
So we started a band, and since I had a bit more aspiration than a rehearsal room, I started writing songs. I wrote a song called "Fade Away," and my purpose in life during that process had been revealed. E minor became my new best friend.
I''ve been writing songs for about 7 years now, and I''m still completely addicted. I''ve been around the world singing songs I wrote for the AFE, and have been from Greenland to Guatemala (although I''m known as "IsLiz" there...it was a communication error). I now work with an amazingly inspirational producer and songwriter, "Emmy Award winning Josh Goode," and am writing my second collection of songs in hopes to find people who like my music.
