Details:
Philip Hamilton, best known for his vocal work with acclaimed international jazz and world music artists, including the Pat Metheny Group, Gilberto Gil, Ronnie Jordan, Spyro Gyra and Special EFX, has released Blues, Rhythm, Rhythm & Blues, an album of original music inspired by the Blues and R & B of the past and present.

Hamilton, whose music has been hailed as "powerful" and "explosive" by the New York Times, teamed up with producer Barry Marshall to create the sound and style of Blues, Rhythm, Rhythm & Blues. These two Boston natives (Hamilton currently resides in New York) started writing for this project in the 90''s while both recorded and toured extensively with R & B legend LaVern Baker. The project is dedicated to and inspired by the late Rock and Roll Hall of Famer'' spirit. Hamilton and Marshall''s production takes the listener on a trip through original work songs, jump blues and hollers to music evoking the sounds of Louis Jordan, Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters and Marvin Gaye.

The Washington Post call Philip Hamilton, "..an unusally energetic and inventive vocalist," citing his vocal dexterity as well as ability to lead the listener through both an insightful spiritual and funky powerhousejam. This reputation led him to work with a long list of leading contemporary jazz and pop musicians that include Steely Dan''s Donald Fagan, Living Color''s Vernon Reid, Nuevo Flamenco guitarist Ottmar Leibert and Soulful Pop Vocalists Phoebe Snow and Micheal McDonald among others. Hamilton also has made a name for himself as a composer, prompting the New York Times to applaud his works as "sensitively calibrated, juicily explosive music..". This music has made Hamilton and his group a favorite at many of the world''s leading festivals and venues.

Hamilton was co-founder of the highly successful fusion group, Full Circle, which took the music world by storm in the early nineties. The group won numerous awards, including "Best Jazz Group" at the San Sebastian Jazz Festival and two "Best Group Album/Major Label" honors at the Boston Music Awards. Of Hamilton''s work with Full Circle, a Buffalo News reviewer wrote, "Bravo especially to singer and drummer Philip Hamilton. His solo drew the loudest cheers of the night, and prove that with sheer creativity, you can conquer the world with a whisper".

Hamilton is a featured lecturer at Lincoln Center''s Meet the Artist" series. His workshop, Music and Magic of the Human Voice, spotlights an astounding range of vocal sounds from around the world, including Tuvan throat singing, monkey chants, and hip-hop beat boxing as well as the rich choral traditions of Cuba, Brazil. Africa and North America. His group recently returned from the Kaunas Jazz Festival in Lithuania, where they recorded a live CD and DVD that will be released by Montenegro Records later this year. He continues to tour throughout South America, North America Africa and Europe with his various projects. Check out https://www.tradebit.com for tour schedules and information.
