ROCK: Punk, ROCK: 70''s Rock

Details:
From the bleakness of a dreary NYC day comes haVeBlue. Consisting of the headstrong quartet of Rookie Blue, dV Blue, Culley O''blue, and Percy Blue, their fight is endless. Channeling early tones of the Pixies, Joy Division, The Clash, and Gang of Four, haVeBlue have created a toned up version of Rocket from the Tombs meet the Stooges. Always looking for new textures all members play multiple instruments and are always looking to add new and promising sounds. Their music is ever changing and spans the genres like the ice ages, from rock to garage, to dub, to country.

Rookie, a bass player of sorts, and a professional destroyer, was born in the West but cut his teeth all over the East Coast. After relocating to NYC in 2004 as a mediocre guitar player with a penchant for percussive sonic delivery and lust for lyricism, he met his musical foil in dV, during a fateful bar crawl. Rookie (a.k.a. Michael) likens music to a camera, that when he writes a song- he essentially creates an apparatus to capture life. Anchoring haVeBlue''s low-end during performance; his influences include Dave Allen, Eric A, John Entwhistle, Peter Hook, and Joe Lally, while trying to be "as cool as Kim Deal."

dV has transcended many different lives from Boston to Miami to NYC and has played in countless bands including SandeMantis, Minority Project, Goth Chix in Vinyl, Guilty Bystander, and the Maledictions. While helming the wall of vocal and guitar noise for haVeBlue, he prefers vintage gear with depth and warmth. With resources and influences from Joy Division, Fugazi, Wire, Gang of Four, The Pixies, The Clash and The Stooges, all his creativity is expounded in a single vessel that is haVeBlue. An avid producer he currently insists on analog recording devices for all his projects and runs his own NYC based label, aNvilEntertainment Records.

Culley''s first musical influences were his folks'' barrelhouse blues and old Stax Volt soul records. As he was happily working his way through the Mississippi Delta playing the blues, he happened upon Kiss'' Destroyer record in a used record store. From this point on, the volume would never come down to comfortable levels ever again. Not long after his hard rock conversion, he followed his old man to Berlin, Germany at the height of the Cold War. At an anarchist party in a Kreuzberg squat, he fell in love with a Nina Hagen clone. He then traded in his heavy riffs for the jagged dissonance of punk rock and threw out his old Kiss canon (a knee-jerk reaction he later came to really regret!) When he returned to the good ol'' U.S. of A. he began playing in bands around his hometown of Worcester, MA, exploring funk and hip-hop and noisy art-punk. He then proceeded to rock his way through Florida, Chicago, California and points in between while finally landing in New York a few years back. Before joining haVeBlue, Culley played with several strange bands, including the show stopping trip-hop/funk outfit Treetop Dwellerz, 22 hZ, The Bollocks, and Coco''s Pills.

Percy blue was born in Washington, MO. He picked up the sticks in 8th grade and has been playing ever since. After being educated at sleep away school at Webster University in St. Louis, he heard there was a need for superheroes... (cool ones at that) and quickly relocated to NYC in Aug 2005. Percy previously played with The N.P''s who Dick Fisher of the Music Note News proclaimed, "The ultimate basement/party band of Webster Groves." With influences ranging from Carter Beauford to Travis Barker, Percy is the final key to haVeBlue''s musical assault.
