HEYWOOD is currently living & playing gigs in the Minneapolis area. They are a trio these days - and the music is incredible!!! Heywood is a young band of high school friends from Rapid City, South Dakota,
committed to playing and creating music together.
The five band members include Marty Cowles on keyboard and vocals, Aaron
Bjerke on lead guitar, Ben Haggerty on bass, RJ Odom on drums, and Kirsten
Iverson on electric violin and vocals.
The main goal of the band is to carry on with the music, and to play for as many people as possible. They plan on staying together as long as the gigs keep coming.
Heywood describes their sound as "alternative fusion rock", with undertones of
jazz, blues, and reggae. The band''s original material, which is written by
Bjerke and Cowles, is high-energy and melodic. Strong influences come from
Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Pink Floyd, music of the 70s and jazz.

"...Wackopalooza, on June 30, was a fine day in its own right. At Wacko, music was the point....HEYWOOD, five young people who will all be seniors in high school the coming school year, was a complete surprise. They play clean and sweet, and I could understand all their lyrics..."
