Dreams can come from many places. For Henry Cramer, dreams of a recording career began in a town of just over 300 people in South Dakota where he grew up listening to 80''s pop-rock.
"I grew up in a very small town called Stickney," Henry says. "When I was 14 I realized that I wanted to do music."
While he was in school Cramer took choir classes and competed in choral competitions where he received superior ratings. He was also inspired greatly by his father who was known to sing and play guitar around the house.
"My dad is a huge inspiration for me to go after this. He had a chance to sing on NBC radio in the past and I always have looked up to him," Cramer adds.
After he left high school Cramer put some of his music goals on hold. A recording career seemed just out of reach. He says he lost the drive he once had when he was younger.
"I found myself not dreaming like I used to, and going for my goals. I finally decided I want to do this, and show people it can be done," Cramer says.
Big music dreams in a small town can sometimes not go over well. That is exactly what happened in Henry''s case. He took some negative criticism from some people, but he also had friends and family cheering him on.
"I want people to be inspired by my music. I want to be able to express my ideas and feelings through the songs."
In 2003 Cramer started his career by performing at open mic nights at area clubs. He also performed at a benefit concert for one of his friend''s granddaughter. Cramer also began writing and recording material for his first CD that will be released in Summer of 2004.
"I want my music to be heard by as many people as possible," Cramer explains. "I started my own music company, Chartblaster Music to do that."
Cramer says his style is like fun, romantic, danceable pop. Similar artists could be NSync, Backstreet Boys or Justin Timberlake.
When the CD is released Cramer plans on doing area performances. The CD will be available worldwide at the Chartblaster website at https://www.tradebit.com.
