The Adventurous White Shoes got their start in 2006. The creators of The Adventurous White Shoes (Mike Castellucci and Micky Westenberger) where members of a rock group that never got off the ground. After the band disbursed because of “creative differences”, Micky and Mike branched off to form a new band. The two started The Adventurous White Shoes as a cover duo group that dabbled in small performances and some light studio work. Mike plays the guitar, trumpet, bass, and provides vocals for the band. Micky, also provides vocals and plays bass and guitar. A couple months later, the two decided to make the cover duo into the rock band that they had both hoped and dreamed about since they were children. They scouted out drummer JJ Hoff and guitarist Nolan Hartley who ended up being just what the White Shoes needed to get themselves going in the wild world of music. Having all graduated from Mountain Lakes High School in 2007, the members continue to get together on college breaks to collaborate and perform. Mike is a music performance major at UNCG. Micky attends Lock Haven studying criminal justice. JJ is at Duke studying pre-med and Nolan is at Skidmore majoring in Women Studies. The Adventurous White Shoes have been playing shows all over New Jersey and are beginning to perform out of state this summer.
