Ustuqus-al-Uss is composed and played by Salim Ghazi Saeedi, a member of Iranian progressive rock band, Arashk.
This album is cross-genre in nature. Unlike previous albums, Ustuqus-al-Uss hires violin and piano as lead instruments and many versatile elements live in harmony. Salim Ghazi Saeedi notes that "...My music is composed in totally improvisational manner. The music evolves second by second and beat by beat with no premeditation. I just listen to my inner-ear: Every instrument has equal chance to be suggested in this music."
Ustuqus-al-Uss contains standard symphonic music, Electronic beats, standard jazz drum set, purely oriental rhythms and instruments, standard metal instrumentation, odd rhythms and even more!
The name "Ustuqus-al-Uss" (Essence of Foundation) is adopted from Geber (Jabir-ibn-Hayyan)''s book entitled "Kitab Ustuqus al-Uss al-Thani" which contains his interpretation to Emerald Tablet of Thoth.
