What should you expect from music? Do you expect something different from electronic music?

In the age of “the club banger”, electronically rehashed pop songs, mash-ups, and band wagon drivel, Prophetnoise stands out as forcefully original, respectful of past influences, and keenly aware of the sound scape he works within.

His first full length album, ''Godless Music for a Free Mind'' is completely sample free and painstakingly composed. It shows. The album has clarity rarely seen by the glut of artists clogging the conglomerates of music retailers. Prophetnoise expects more.

''Godless Music for a Free Mind'' opens with prominence, both sonically and structurally. Like the first track’s title, ''Step Outside (An Intro...)'', the music calls for you to diverge from your comfort zone. Once you remove the expectations of endless “four on the floor” and banal throwbacks to 70’s disco funk, you begin to experience the unique textures and layering this electronically produced album brings. The bass exists clearly and is best heard with the sub-woofer turned up, allowing you to absorb the deep frequencies and sub harmonics.

With tones of classic Orb and infamous Orbital style synths, the album demands you listen, but frees you from the burden of conscious appreciation. ''Mr. Bennett'' is a great example of the mastery Prophetnoise has over lush textures combined with engaging rhythms. As the album progresses, you also progress through a variety of beats and blips finely carved with tight bass and drums. ''The Cosmic Garden'' adopts a trip hop feel, with worm like squelchy leads and bouncy bass.

A self made artist, Prophetnoise introduces himself with intensity on his first full length album. Incredibly prolific, Prophetnoise is carving out new sounds and structures to quench your thirst for intelligent, engaging music. Dig a bit, you can find your Prophetnoise too. Expect more.

Multitasking isn''t a burden on Noise. Its a release.

"Sometimes I can''t function unless I''m doing ten things at once. Everything seems to slow down and become crystal clear," he explains.

Its evident in his music. Whether programming solo projects or playing bass with others, his erratic thought process blended with his calculated delivery gives the song sanctuary in chaos.

He got his start recording and playing in various New York City bands, and graduated from SUNY Purchase (N.Y.) College, where he earned a degree in music production.

He is currently Soundman and Co-Producer of politically-charged hip-hop group Hungry Mob, as well as creating what he refers to as "good music gone awry" as producer, programmer and bassist in solo and collaborative projects.

As if that wasn''t enough, he also does live sound, sessions in his project studio and teaches bass lessons.

Noise was formerly head of sound for Napoleon''s Itch bar on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, and was resident sound engineer for the weekly Mary Griffin Concert at Snooks Bar, also on Bourbon. He was scheduled to do sound on the main stage at the Bourbon Street Extravaganza during Southern Decadence, the city''s third largest festival - rivaled only by Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras. . . Stupid hurricanes.
