Details:
Poet Sky is a Southern California based alt-rock/post-punk band consisting of Victor J. Ramirez - Forrest (or "Foe" for short), Samuel “Strav” Arzaga & Brian Ring as well as an ever-changing evolution and addition of multiple players per project and/or album from mid-2007 and on.

POET SKY: Origins

Poet Sky has hybrid origins from La Puente (a suburb in the San Gabriel Valley 20 miles east of Los Angeles) and Apple Valley (located in the High Desert of San Bernardino County). The bands initial founding members are Foe, Strav and Martin Cortez. Although Foe and Strav had met in Junior High School it wasn’t until they met Martin at La Puente High School in 1989 that the ideal and concept of what would later become Poet Sky came about. However, a year later Foe moved from La Puente to Apple Valley but remained in contact and close friends with Martin & Strav. By late 1991 they began writing and rehearsing songs with Foe doing lead vocals, Strav on bass and Martin on guitar. Their initial drummer during this time was Eirik L. Fulton whom Foe had become close friends with while attending AVHS, Eirik would be replaced for a short stint in late ’92 by Julio Figueroa but would return to playing for the band by late ’93 and on through ''94.

Although the boys had done a few ‘back yard’ shows and parties as Poet Sky by late 1992, it wasn’t until early ''93 that they finally played their first real venue show. This was also the bands first time featuring keyboards, which were initially played by Souxsie V who was with the band through out most of that year. It was also by the summer of that year that Brian Ring would come on board as a bass player with Strav taking over dual duties as keyboardist & rhythm guitarist. Brian had become friends with Foe & Eirik a year prior while working a summer play festival at the Victor Valley College. Other band members have included Eric Agueros who took over drum duties in late 1994 and on through 1996.

Poet Sky ended up spending the mid-90''s being a sometimes fixture and/or a supporting act making the venue rounds through the San Gabriel Valley, High Desert, LA and Hollywood doing thier shows and just being part of the scene. Most notably playing along with more well known SGV bands of the time such as My Suicide and Pinhead.

During all of this however, the band had neglected to do one thing…make any real professional recordings of their work.

POET SKY: Reformation

Poet Sky''s revival of the late-2000''s have come about in the reformation to create the self released debut LP titled "Our Alackday Ways", which will completely be made up of songs that were written during their original 90''s run that never made the light of day onto a CD.

With a small hand full of new material spawned due to the regroup and recoding sessions that have occurred from October 2007 through Spring/Summer 2008; two EPs will be released both immediately preceding and following the OAW LP which will contain some old live version of the OAW material as well as new songs from said sessions, including tracks Foe worked on for good friend turned Poet Sky collaborator Kevin Kolpien (previously of They Walk In Line & The Stevenson Ranch Davidians).

Kevin''s contributions to the Our Alackaday Ways LP, the EP’s tentatively titled the Sporadic Erratic EP and Hyperbole includes everything from; recording/engineering duties, mixing of new material & redone materiel, to the re-mixing of old live version tracks for the Sporadic Erratic EP, to additional guitar fills, completed song ideas from his own personal catalog and all the other wisdoms & ideas needed in-between.
