Diona grew up listening to her mother’s albums which included Motown hits, and music with soul and funk. In junior high she found out that she had the gift of creative writing, and it was around that time she began writing her own song lyrics. In her early college years she not only learned biology, but she learned that all types of music (R&B, Spanish, Alternative, Pop, etc) could be enjoyable, and eventually she began to write lyrics to most any genre. She wrote these lyrics, while only imagining melodies and funky beats that could accompany her creativeness. A couple of years later, she met Lamec (a producer/writer/rapper).
Lamec finally gave Diona the music that she had been waiting for. Since 2001, Diona and Lamec have been collaborating, and making powerful music together. Her voice and lyrics can also be found on the Gateway Drug (a hip-hop/rock/pop collaboration between Lamec, Diona, and Rocky).
Today Diona would like to share her debut solo album with music lovers around the world, and those of you who have experienced the joy that comes with love, and the pain that comes with a love lost. She hopes with her words, you can feel what it feels like to let your guard down and be Naïve and in Love.
