Details:
Dem imonde is a three-member, straight-edge, IntelaRock [intelligent experimental and alternative rock] band from Augusta, Georgia. Its members are Aiden Blair, Ximena Valdís, and Elliott X. Grey XVI.

Ximena and Elliott were in a band [known then as Veiled in Darkness (VID)] throughout 2006. In the fall of 2007, Aiden moved to a nearby town and registered at the school that Ximena and Elliott attended. By coincidence, Ximena and Aiden had the same class together. On the fifth day of school, Aiden mentioned ''The Cure'' and Ximena immediately realized that they had a passion for the same bands and genres of music. The next day, Ximena asked Aiden to join her band with Elliott and the rest is history, ladies and gentlemen. The name was changed, the instruments were rearranged, and music came out of the little crossroads known as Grange... Dem imonde was born- a combination of three girls with different visions, but one mission: to bring back the true definition of music.

The band’s debut album, Nyctalopia, was released in April of 2008. The following review was written by Dino Lull of Metro Spirit Magazine:

Issue #19.48 :: 06/25/2008 - 07/01/2008

AUGUSTA, GA - With a sound unlike anything heard in quite a while, Dem Imonde quickly surprise the listener with not just their haunting lyrics but also the sheer professionalism of the album.

Containing seven songs that rank from a building instrumental opener to reverb and echo-laced barrages of near noise, "Nyctalopia" revives the once-popular but now generally lost post-punk genre of underground music. Though garage-esque in parts, the overall edgy feel of this self-produced record leaves a burning desire for more long after the final song has played.

Heralding back to late-''70s groundbreaking music acts such as Kleenex or Siouxsie & the Banshees, Dem Imonde offer tracks that continue to build throughout the album, one after another in ways that are also reminiscent of the Doors’ first album. “6:04” is a perfect example of this while the raw sound of “The Sandman” reminds one of early Bikini Kill.

This three person band from the Augusta, Ga., area bring a haunting sound that goes beyond mere Goth pretentiousness and into more creative, original territory. Though young, Dem Imonde have the skills and the intelligence to build on their sound in the coming years without losing themselves as did so many of those previously mentioned post-punk bands.

Ability, creativity and catchy, dark songs from Dem Imonde offer a brief glance into the past and a rewarding stare into the eye of the future of underground music.
