Details:
Vigilante Justice is a collection of fourteen original songs on compact disk about Montana history in the 1860''s. The songs deal with the vigilante period in the winter of 1863-64 and with the early emigration to Montana. Each song was written and is sung with guitar accompaniment by singer-songwriter Dave Horton. The songs in this unique musical presentation of Montana history primarily focus on Virginia City and Bannack, Montana. Included are the familiar tales of the hangings that occurred from December 1863 to March 1864 as told in Plummer''s Gold, Vigilante Justice, The Demise of George Ives, and Molly''s Ride. There are also tunes dealing with the hardship of emigration and life in Montana at the time, and some about characters of the era like Bummer Dan and Slippery Joe. On the whimsical side are Prospector''s Hymn and Haulin'' Henry. Every sale will result in a donation to the Virginia City Preservation Alliance and the Bannack Association for the preservation of Montana''s historic heritage.
