Details:
Recliner’s tube-fed guitars, driving rhythms and sweet vocal harmonies produce sounds that have been described as contagious, neurotic, melodic, and relentless. They’ve also been called "the best band you haven''t heard of - yet," by Insomnia Radio. Both sound about right.

But before the high-praise and fancy adjectives came rolling in, they were just four friends who’d played together in various bands in San Francisco and decided it was time for something new. And fun. And perhaps a little different. So they ditched their instruments, picked up some new ones, threw them up in the air, and hit record.

Of course, they would like to tell you the band was an instant success, that their shows attracted a who’s who of underground indie hepcats and tastemakers. They would, of course, be lying. But from that first show with that one drunk guy, and those two drunk girls, things have been looking up for Recliner.

Not long after their first full length CD, Make a Friend, the band found itself touring far off lands. Places like Davis, California and Tokyo, Japan. They also found themselves getting airplay across the U.S., and as far away as Chile. Soon three self-produced videos could be seen in some surprising places (for a DIY affair), including Fuse TV, https://www.tradebit.com, and https://www.tradebit.com. The proverbial ball was doing its roll. Recently the band was picked as an editor’s choice on both https://www.tradebit.com and https://www.tradebit.com, and…so okay, you get the idea. Word was getting out.

Recliner’s fourth and latest CD, After the Fog (2008) finds the band on top of their game. Start to finish it''s their most cohesive effort, yet with a broader palette of sounds (featuring guest appearances by Crumar, Moog and a Nietzsche paperback being dragged across the strings of a grand piano, among other things). Songwriting-wise, it also finds the band maturing like a fine cheese (because the wine simile has been done to death). And the band’s painstaking adherence to 100% analog tape process is sure to warm the hearts of discerning ears everywhere.

So there it is, the story of Recliner, so far. The favorite band of that one drunk guy and his two girlfriends. Grab a copy of After the Fog, pour yourself a fog cutter and put on the good headphones – or better yet, come on out for a live show.
