Details:
Born in Panama City, Panama, Retrovati was influenced by music since his early years. He began drumming in grade school, which gave him his foundation of rhythms and timings. He later learned to play bass and guitar during high school. Retrovati moved to the United States and continued his musical journey in New Orleans, LA playing bass with Jesse Duplantis Ministries, an international ministry headquartered in New Orleans, LA. During this time, he studied with Bill Huntington, a bassist who has played with Aretha Franklin and Ellis Marsalis.

Today, living in Chicago, IL, Retrovati is an up and coming prog fusion composer. He has just released his first solo album, Metalurgyka, which spans multiple genres. His music is a study of timings and rhythms with an easy listenability that will take the listener on a musical journey, telling a story without words.

Categorizing this CD as progressive rock or progressive fusion really puts it into a box that the music itself can’t be contained within. This music speaks to all cultures and ages. The compositions are melodic and have a cinematic quality that evokes imagery and emotion. This is only the first of many CD’s to come from this rising composer.
