ABOUT THE SONGS ON "FARMER FOR THE LORD"
All people who love are farmers for the Lord: they are seed planters of hope and grace, extending encouragement, love, and community to others. This CD lyrically unvails the joy and peace that the love of God offers our human family. As people everywhere trust God, the ground of all being, and find centering in the way of love, also called the way of Christ, a new vision of reality emerges. That vision reveals the unity of God with all creation, and furthermore reveals the unity that exists between all people. As track four says, "Hey! God loves you!" This CD proclaims that reality: God is love. The character of God we experience is always https://www.tradebit.com we love as God loves, we find harmony with God, and with one another. I hope you will experience this CD as a cresting wave of vibrant encouragement that moves you, lifts you, supports you, and blesses you on your life''s journey.

The use of metaphores is one way to describe things and events which are difficult to explain. For example, describing Jesus as a lighthouse helps us understand that he is a guiding light that leads to safety and away from danger. In this song, "Jesus Is a Lighthouse," a number of metaphores are used to describe the effect Jesus Christ has on those who hear his message and follow the good news of his teaching.

You''ve probably heard someone say, "Hey! That rocks!" Well, in this case, the Holy Spirit rocks! The song "Holy Spirit Rocks" rejoices in the life-changing presence of God among us, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the transforming power of God that regenerates our hearts and leads us into a life of faith. The Spirit is the dynamic, vibrant, and renewing spiritual energy of God that blesses us with gifts and life. Hey! That rocks!

The words of Jesus Christ are filled with light! That is, they are filled with understanding and vision. They are light-filled words, or lightwords for short. The song "The Lightwords of Christ" emphasizes the nature of the words of Jesus, filled with understanding and love. Lightwords are a light unto our path.

The song "Hey! God Loves You" reflects the universal nature of God''s love: God simply loves every person! As we live day by day, we need God''s love day by day; God is always loving us and reaching out to us in love. That is not to say that God is pleased with every thing we do: sometimes we are self-centered and greedy, or angry and violent, or exhibit some other kind of behavior that is not Christ-like. Even in the midst of these times, God loves us with forgiving and renewing love.

As we live life, we meet many challenges. Sometimes those challnges threaten to pull us down, but the Lord is a very present reality that lifts us up to high and solid ground. The song "Lord, You Lift Me Up" celebrates God''s desire and ability to lift us up when struggles are attempting to pull us down.

As I mentioned above, anyone who loves is farming for the lord. In the broadest sense, an act of love is a seed planted. Thus we can plant seeds every day, seeds that will grow in fertile soil and produce big results. At times, planting seeds involves sharing specifically about the nature of God as forgiving and renewing love. When a farmer plants seeds for the Lord, he or she is living out the Great Commission to go into our community and share the Good News of God''s love with others. The song "Farmer For the Lord" is modeled after the Parable of the Sower and addresses the work of a farmer who planting seeds and helping them grow.

The call of God to love and minister in Christ is a universal call extended to all Christians. Everyone who says, "Yes!" to Jesus is then sent on a life-long journey of announcing the gifts of God to the world. The song entitled "Called" emphasizes that we are called to a life of faithfulness and love with others.

The song “Spending The Day With Jesus” emphasizes God’s desire to have a close and personal relationship with us. As we live day by day, walking in the way of love and grace, caring about those around us, and celebrating the goodness and truth in life, we are spending the day with Jesus. Gathered in the name of Christ, making love real and meaningful to those around us, we lift up the way of Christ as a way that brings blessing and fulfillment.

We worship God in Spirit and truth. Our worship is a joyful expression of our faith, hope, and love; a lifting up of our voices in praise and thanksgiving. The song “Give To God” expresses our praise in Spirit and truth.

“The Ballad of Nimrod Jackson” is based on a true story about a man who was tragically killed in a water well about 100 years ago. The man was named Nimrod Jackson, and he worked for many years with the railroad, then later in life began digging and repairing wells. The work called for him to descend into the well and replace and shore up the well wall-lining boards. During one repair job the well began to cave in and his legs became pinned by some of the side boards. This meant he could not be pulled up. For about a week they tried to free him, even digging a parallel well which may have been successful, but before they could use it, a disastrous cave in tragically took his life. His body was not recoverable at the time and the well site became his resting place. I wrote this song and sang it at a Memorial Service that was held at the site in 2005. At that time a monument was placed to mark the site of Nimrod Jackson’s grave. He was a leader in the African-American community in his day and many of his descendents were in attendance for this remarkable event. The day was a celebration of the life of Nimrod Jackson, of a beloved family ancestor, of a life well lived, and of the friendship, love, and unity that exists in the community today.
