Details:
This is Rory’s first studio album and was definitely a challenge to sing in many different keys. This is what gives this album its uniqueness and to combine musical genres.

Rory is hoping that fans would discover a new voice and rhythm to intoxicate the soul. There is bluesy seductiveness, and pop/rock melodies that reflect the secret of the soul.

Rory dedicated the third song on the album “ I will Love You Forever” to his uncle Ricknauth Jagarnauth who was a September 11 victim. This song is from the point of view of Rick to give comfort to all those that knew him especially his family. He was Rory’s mother third brother. His death was a devastated experience to all that knew him.

On “You Belong To Me,” he shows his love for the Blues with a new style and tried to incorporate the romantic side of the Blues with lyrics to intoxicate the senses. Rory has been and currently on the board of the Houston Blues Society and this has influence his discipline to write and record in the studio. His son Peter laid the bass track on this song.

He included a mixture of reggae and pop in, “Friday Night Blues,” a song that was first intended for a Blues song. “Fragile” one of his favorite song is a slow rock that has a Pink Floyd feel but takes on its own character- soothing but intense.

Rory began working on the album Hanging On at home with his guitar and harmonica after the title track was recorded. His recording idea was just to have a single but there was an excitement to produce an album. He credited his producer Locke Brady for his patience and encouragement and also his many close friends who enjoyed his musicianship.

“I believed in the songs I wrote, simple melodies with a twist,” admits Rory. “I wanted something that would make people happy and wanted them to listen to it over and over. That is what I do when I fall in love with someone’s music. I listened to it endlessly until it becomes unbearable.”

Rory is still working in the IS&T field as a Telecommunications Analyst and explores music as a form of therapy. He mentioned that it was all possible because of M.K.V. (Mathematical Karmic Value) a phrased he invented and named the last track on the album- a combination of guitar and tabla.
