Details:
Feel the world is getting smaller? Look no further for evidence. It is here in rock’s newcomer, Ruthie Bram, a Lebanese-born American 18 year old from Texas. Orphaned as an infant during the Lebanese civil war that raged in 1988, Ruthie was adopted by an American couple and taken to Texas. There she soaked up the Texas musical greats—Buddy Holly, Janis Joplin, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn and vowed to become a part of that musical landscape.

At the ripe old age of 15 Ruthie finished writing her first three songs. After writing the songs, Ruthie to co-produced the tracking, as well as, sang all the vocals. When the three songs were listed L.A.’s MUSIC CONNECTION as one of the TOP 25 DEMOS OF 2005 (out of 10,000 plus submissions) and Ruthie was listed in the TOP 100 UNSIGNED ARTISTS OF 2005, she became the youngest submitter to ever have made the TOP 25 in both categories in MUSIC CONNECTION’S history. Add this to the chance to sing for international dignitaries and Beverly Hills notables at celebrity charity functions such as U.N.I.C.E.F., TSUNAMI RELIEF, AND OPERATION SMILE, and you have the beginning of a dream that’s bound to come true.

Ruthie is now posed to circulate her songs, as her much-anticipated CD is expected to be ready by the end of the summer. This collection will showcase a talent and a desire that knows no bounds. In just three years, Ruthie’s range of writing topics have broadened and her exceptional voice has grown to reveal more of her soul. One thing that remains unchanged is her stratospheric pleasure in writing and entertaining. Ruthie says, “I was born to write and sing for people--to tell their stories as well as my own. That’s what I want to accomplish.”

This attitude gave rise to Ruthie’s first song, Groove to the Music. After watching the disenfranchised and those of privilege around her, Ruthie realized that both types find a common link in music. Therefore, in Groove to the Music, those in and out of sync with larger society are encouraged to hold their heads up, put their spin on history, and reach for all that they’ve dreamed, because by being part of the musical world around them, they are brought together with others in a new solidarity that enables success.

Like Ruthie’s first song, each of those that followed is a distinctive, framed vignette, where she reveals the unfolding changes common to teens and young adults across the world. In Work Together, Ruthie reflects on the downward spiral of the world, the negative impact this has on all, and the unique role that rock music can play in giving new ideas voice and in helping individuals to mobilize into groups with other like-minded people that can make changes in the world. So You Want My Love is a reality check that relationships aren’t easy and asks the blunt question of whether the other person has what it takes to make them happy. No More Lies is a jovial presentation of a girl/woman’s assessment that her life will go badly if she continues in an untruthful relationship, and that self-empowerment will alter her course. Ruthie’s power ballad Will She is designed to communicate that individuals can also be a significant source of help to others. In Stop Right There, Ruthie describes a frisky way to meet guys by stopping them in the street and taking pictures of their hair.

Ruthie is supporting her new CD, RUTHIE BRAM, and her country of origin, Lebanon, by touring with EuroRock 2007 Rockin’ the World for Peace. EuroRock 2007 is made up 14 bands from all over the world that are coming together as one to rock the conversation about peace, starting August 29th in NYC. As a survivor of the battles for Lebanon in 1988, Ruthie believes Lebanon is desperately in need of peace, as it was turned into a pile of rubble for the second time in her short life during the summer of 2006. Ruthie hopes that more awareness, more dialogue, more action on the part of ordinary people can help shape a peaceful future for the people of Lebanon.

As a teen steeped in American rock n roll, Ruthie reflects the varied world around her in luminous, fiery pop melodies under girded by urban funk vibes reminiscent of the 1970’s and driven by screaming soulful rock guitar. She merges hot American rock tradition with cool modernity because she says her generation of listener will not be restricted in the category and age of music to which they listen, as long as it speaks to them personally. Ruthie says, “My desire is to write and record what people can relate to and listen to over and over. I constantly strive to improve my craft.” Therefore, her album will be a collection of tightly interwoven musical styles reflecting a typical young woman’s raw and unedited view of her world.
