MP3 Idlewilde - Full Throttle

Smoking harp, Texas blues-style guitar work, and a rhythm section tighter than your Daddy''s wallet on a Saturday night. These guys didn''t just roll one out there, "Full Throttle" came to run.

9 MP3 Songs
BLUES: Chicago Style, BLUES: Texas Style

Details:
The title track "Full Throttle" will be very familiar to long time fans of Idlewilde. The song evokes the band''s spirit of living on the edge, working hard, playing harder. The music is hard edged Southern Rock with a Texas biker bar boogie that just won''t stop.

"The Big Hurt" is a classic Chicago-style blues story of the pain of your woman leaving you. It features Phil Spillane''s fiery harp lines with Jon Gould''s take no prisoner''s lead guitar playing.

"No ''F'' in Chocolate" is a blues instrumental in the style of James Cotton. Sweet and tasty, you''ll like it!

Ward ''8'' starts out with a neurotic and fiery guitar riff, and gets more out of control from there on! Join Phil on a journey to the center of his mind. Denny Hartzell''s Hammond B3 rocks this one!

"Same Old Game" is another blues song, lamenting tortured love gone bad. Phil takes aim with his Stratocaster on this one, and it hits the mark.

Take a drive across the Golden Gate bridge in a ''69 GTO with a blond beauty in the co-pilot''s seat on a summer day, and you get the idea of "Fast Car, 69". The refrain is bouncy and addictive, infused with a surf tone and a tequila drenched attitude. You''ll want to drive this one all night!

Written originally for a Halloween party (an "adult" party, we should add), "Carpe Cranium" delves into a seduction by creatures of the night. Denny (the Doctor of Death) rocks the Hammond again, and adds some Jazz Saxophone for good measure!

"Still a Long Way to Go" is a great driving song, with an edgy guitar driven vibe, and an off the hook guitar solo. Some hints of Grateful Dead in this one. Let ''er rip!

"Almost Gone" returns to the bands roots, with hints of the early Allman Brothers and Santana, and some great vocal harmonies from Dale and Ryan.
