Details:
With their debut album release in 2004 and an upcoming minitour in Northern California, Implied Five is quickly becoming a fixture on the Bay Area music. This five musician band takes an eclectic approach to modern rock - happily blending smoky jazz with surf pop, blues, funk, Swedish rap (!) and even some bluegrass. Listening to Implied Five you will enjoy the soaring female vocals, strong guitars, and the hefty sax riffs.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Implied Five is a five musician strong band competing for attention with 2 guitars, bass, drums, sax, keyboard, and female lead vocals.
The band is regularly performing at local venues such as Blake''s in Berkeley, the Starry Plough, the Stork Club in Oakland, as well as the Cherry Bar, the Bitter End, and Club Milk in San Francisco.
In the fall of 2003 the group met up with talented Producer, Singer and Composer Mike Brayton (solo artist and former Thrill Cat member) and went into the recording studio. The original intent was to record 3 tracks, but inspiration struck and after a long night in the studio the group came out with 7 fresh tracks. Two more live tracks were added to their 2004 album release on their Implied Record label.
The original Implied Five has played together since 2000, but they can be traced back to the early 90s when guitarist Mike Sprague set up a rehearsal studio in the basement of his house in El Cerrito, California.
Mike writes the group''s material together with lead singer/bass player and keyboardist TC Brewitz, who''s also busy launching her new solo album with Swedish/American folk pop (see "TC - Scent of You"). Drummer and percussionist Chuck Butler holds a steady beat and sings backup. Tenor Sax player Dave Cherry adds pleasing texture in rhythm and solos. Guitarist Johnny Beane (founder of the band Sea of Sorrow) joined the band in 2004 and adds the extra effects and nice doses of distortion.

The band has received a lot of accolades for their crisp live sound and for their innovative song writing. The pleasing voice of lead singer TC makes can be compared to an early Chrissy Hynde, with a hint of Amy Lee of Evanescence or sometimes an animated Björk, reminiscent of TC''s Swedish roots.
Yeah, so what is up with their Swedish rap tune "Strawberry Snow"?
