The Island Fever Band performs an interesting musical mixture of "Jimmy Buffett", reggae and original songs all wrapped up in a party atmosphere. Their debut album, "Sweet Pontchartrain" is a fun and lively array of all original music founded in the "island" sounds of Buffett.
The band is considered by many in the Gulf Coast region to be the premier beach party band. The Island Fever Band has opened for famous performers such as The Beach Boys and often finds itself as the headliner at events of fun loving individuals such as "Phlockstock" on Bourbon Street in New Orleans and "That One Particular Harbor" aboard the world''s largest party barge at Marina Del Ray in Madisonville, Louisiana. Other performances at Parrothead phlockings include "The Meeting of the Mindless" in the New Orleans French Quarter and "A Parrothead Weekend" at Rosie O''Grady''s at Seville Quarters in Pensacola, Florida.
It was aboard a yacht on Lake Pontchartrain that Bert Toms, the band''s co-founder, lead guitar player and songwriter got inspiration to write the beautiful ballad and CD title cut "Sweet Pontchartrain".
