considered widely to be the oldest living city on the earth...
and for two months I had the opportunity to live in this venerable place...walking daily past cremation fires which predate the times of Christ...studying with one of the great Indian Flute Masters...and learning compassion, tolerance, and forgiveness from both the city''s dark bowels and its most sacred of holy places - the Mother Ganga River.
Waking each morning before dawn, I watched the crows rejoin the city, flying from the barren eastern shore as the devoted people gathered at its banks to bath while the quiet gentle sun glowed upon this ancient city of worship.
This recording was made during my last moments in Varanasi. My Flute is joined with didjeridu, human voice, antique Tibetan singing Bowls and a six foot rain stick filled with magic items.
I bow my head and wish for all who listen...that the secrets which this gracious and wise city has offered to me...be revealed to you.
