Details:
An engaging culmination of dynamic dance rhythms, soaring vocals, and exhilarating melodies. With an exotic euro flavor and a techno twist, this best describes Jacinta and her music.

Jacinta produces and performs what she calls "technical music for an emotional world", singing and playing keyboards, with her band - the extensions of her fingers -- and the impressions they leave behind on the keys, infrared beams, samplers, sliders, and knobs. This, paired with an otherworldly voice that is at once soft and soothing, then fierce and uplifting, shapes the tapestry of her music: piercingly intricate, engulfing and transcendent.

Hers is a daring musical experience that has slowly been culminated into a sense of solidarity. Since leaving Sydney, Australia and relocating to Austin, Jacinta makes the transition to the live music capital of Texas with apparent ease, but her journey is not without its twists, turns, and surprises. Technically an American native, Jacinta was born in Oregon of Russian Cossack, Dutch Seafaring and Australian First Fleeter descendants. She began her music career in Australia, band by band and gig by gig. Soon, she found herself deeply entrenched in the independent music scene and in 1997, Jacinta decided to approach her music career from a solo perspective. Since then, she has been purposefully building a diverse and stylish presence- performing, songwriting, producing, and establishing her own label -- ''Chunky Music.'' With her solo release, Sandalwood: Under the Influence, an album inspired by a freakish 5 month adventure in India (and the samples that she gathered) she found herself gaining a solid footing with the album''s centerpiece song, "Fly". This particular track, featuring bittersweet lyrics, entwining harmonies, and a driving dance beat, proved to be the ace that -when tucked up her sleeve- could not lead Jacinta astray.

Shortly after Sandalwood''s release, Fly was picked up by the children''s show "The Saddle Club", and it proved to be a launching point from which Jacinta could begin custom songwriting for the Discovery Kid''s channel favorite. Since then, a plethora of her songs have been included on The Saddle Club''s highly popular soundtracks, including Wonderland, which has also been re-released by Mattel''s BarbieĀ© in her albums Beyond Pink and Pool Party Mix Vol. 2. Fly, along with Wonderland, have since climbed the Australian Independent Music charts with unexpected speed and to great effect.

Since arriving in Austin, Jacinta began gigging one night a week at Lounge, a favored bar in the Warehouse district, as well as the Elephant Room, Xtreme, the Four Seasons lounge, Red Eyed Fly, Chez Zee, Club Meneo ( now Copa) and Cirrus Lounge. She also showcased at the Pecan Street Festival, Fiesta Texas, and Summer Launch at Barton Springs. With that, her galvanizing standout mixes and enthralling voice began to take root in the musically saturated city of Austin.

Towards the end of 2003, Jacinta began to devise a new album concept that was literally years in the making. She is proud to release her first U.S. album, Smokescreen. Encapsulating the breadth of her experiences, the album is an orbital adventure that is infused with transcendent connotations. The album boasts a mosaic of involving melodies, original samples, and grinding bass that pulsates right to your toes, with the silvery affectations of her unique voice and sometimes frenetic soundscapes. When all of this combines to a palpable dance-frenzy, Jacinta surprises the listener and brings it back down to a poetic simplicity with sharp, soul-baring tracks laid in crystalline piano chords. Through the music on this album, Jacinta hopes to communicate and connect with every person listening. She reminds us of something that is integral to all of us- the human condition, the spiral of change, and the agony and ecstasy that correspond with its myriad brilliance and darkness.
