Band Biography

Land Safely on the Ground is the third studio release from The Divide based in Brookfield/Danbury, CT. It is available for purchase on https://www.tradebit.com and https://www.tradebit.com soon to be released on https://www.tradebit.com, https://www.tradebit.com, https://www.tradebit.com , and https://www.tradebit.com. The CD was mastered by Gary Fulton, Sonic House Post Productions, Roxbury, CT and took 12 months to complete.

The album title “Land Safely on The Ground,” was created from the inspiration of young Hollywood themes. The CD includes pop/rock tracks “She’s Gone Hollywood,” “Vanity Fare” and “Socialite Heiress”. “There’s a bit of satire on young Hollywood in these tracks” says Steve Ruffler, lead vocals/bass guitarist. “These songs poke a bit of fun on how TV viewers are bombarded with reality TV everyday and how advertising is the driving force to sell products through these shows in a fun, exciting way,” says Steve.

Mixing pop/rock songs with a punk edge is the foundation for the CD. However, the band is no stranger to writing catchy commercial sounding ballads. “Dedicated” the 5th song on the CD showcases the bands talent with softer Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young like harmonies. Anthony Tabacco Jr., drummer/backing vocalist, adds finely tuned harmonies. “We spent a lot of time on this project, but the results were well worth it as it took our original music to another level,” says Anthony.

George Hanlon, lead guitarist, fires away catchy guitar hooks with emotional melodies making his guitar sound like violins at times on the catchy song “Madhouse” and the rock opera sounding “Jack & Tabitha”. What sounds like it could have been done on a synthesizer was recorded purely with George’s guitar. “We recorded this CD only using guitars” says George. “As a modern rock band, we wanted to stay true to our live sound as much as possible.”

The Divide is a house band at Molly Darcy’s, Danbury CT and plays for audiences of 500+ each show. The band performs at Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall Gang Camp fundraising events annually. The group has also been a supporting act for The Commitments from Ireland and Black 47. The Divide placed 3rd in an open up for Bon Jovi contest at Jones Beach on NY Radio Station Z100. Venues played include Toads Place, The Chance, The Bitter End, CBGBS, New Music Café and more.
