Details:
Tony has been playing music all his life. He began as a gospel piano player and singer in his teens and took up guitar and banjo during the folk era. He became a professional musician in 1970 in New York and played everywhere from Gerde’s Folk City to Carnegie Hall. In 1975 he bought a telecaster and put together a highly successful country band. For the next 5 years he toured from Nashville to Las Vegas. He opened for or played back up for Kitty Wells, Bill Anderson, Cal Smith, Ian Tyson and lots of other friends and heroes.

In 1980 he moved to LA and put together a band. He played the Palomino, the Cowboy, the Crazy Horse Saloon, The Cowboy Palace and lots of other clubs. In the late 80s he met and married JoAnn, and bought a ranch near Tehachapi. He just retired from teaching special education and spends his time doing carpentry, fishing, writing recording and performing .

He’s never lost his love of music and has re-released Up In the Rafters, a collection of country songs from the LA days. He’s also released Tehachapi Wind, a CD of his cowboy songs. Shake & Bake was on the sound track of a surf video. Dr. Demento used to play his novelty songs, and Let’s Ride Into the Sunset Together was used in the opening episode of the TV series, Push, Nevada and in an episode of Wedding Stories. Tony recently released a cd of original cowboy music called Music From Redwing Ranch.

He continues to write and record when the spirit moves. He just re-released Music From Redwing Ranch , a cd of self-penned cowboy songs.

“I still like to get out and shake it up once in a while.” he says. Tony has played at the cowboy festivals at Elko, Monterey and the Kern County Museum. He plays concerts, clubs, campfires, cowboy gatherings, parties and dances – for the love of the music.
