MP3 Jack Bunter - Never Stop

acoustic folk/blues for the road

10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, ROCK: Folk Rock

Details:
Bunter''s debut cd alternates from upbeat "highway jam" tunes to brooding rainy day moods. All ten offerings are simple, honest emotionally and genuinely non-commerical acoustic rock.

Bunter says he developed his acoustic style after tramping around the globe many times, busking in streets and small clubs in Europe, living in Japan for years and later rediscovering America in his 78 VW bus. Born in DC, he has lived in the East, the South, the Midwest, the Southwest and the Northwest, soaking in each part of the US as he moved and gigged in blues, rock and jazz bands in all the States.

Now based on the West Coast, Bunter sticks exclusively to acoustic guitar and hand percussion sounds for his own solo style, boldly going counter to current commerical trends. A big part of the organic acoustic sound he creates is his rejection of drums or drum machines in his music, prefering instead basic percussive sounds such as leg slaps and hand claps, scratches on carpets, shaking cans full of quarters, raking chopstocks on cheese graters, and simply beating on the back his guitar. Somehow it drives the music, keeping it funky and folky. Bunter claims using basic percussive sounds instead of drums or drum machines more closely captures for him the sounds of driving the back highways, riding the rails and the sound of rain on the roof of his van camped in a redwood forest.

"Definitely reminds me of Lou Reed with the Velvet Underground but like if he had played only funky folk in sunny California and stayed of the hard stuff instead of decadent living in New York" Scott Sellwood, Pedalbark Records, Michigan

"Sounds like Lou Reed meets Bob Dylan with the Modern Lovers" Junko Fujiwara, Kobe, Japan

"Voice like a toad, wears his heart on his sleeve and with more miles under belt than Indy Jones-this guy is a throwback to the Beat era. A solitary and bold expression in a hip-hop vacuous pop bling bling nobody saying a damn thing musical period. "Play it again,Jack" I said when I reached the end." Doug Allen, The Young Americans, San Diego
