For over eight years, Jeff Hix & the Heretics have been a staple of the Vinings music scene in Atlanta, Georgia. While their home base is the Old Vinings Inn, a first class restaurant with a kick ass attic bar, their unique blend of classic rock with funk, folk & reggae accents has appeared in clubs and restaurants across the Southeast, from Little Five Points to the North Georgia Mountains. Band members have included the likes of the late Ron Harville (Ike & Tina Turner, Junior Walker & the All Stars), Sam Simms (Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey), John Willingham (DoubleWide), Tim Butler (Ton of Honey, Filter Kings), Nelson Nolen (Tommy Thompson band, Deja Blue) and Eric Johnson (The Theodis Ealey band). Beyond the Ninth Wave is their second record, recorded live by Marty Kearns at Down in Deep at 800 East, and produced by Jeep at the Hook House. It has a loose groove, jam band feel with an old school, blues-rock backbone.
