Details:
Originally from Wales (a nation of song), I moved to London, England at 18 to pursue a future as a singer/songwriter. I wrote and recorded several songs that quickly gained keen record company interest in me as an artist. Then just as I was about to be launched with a double-A-sided single, an accident rendered me severely incapacitated. My life hung in the balance for a long time and I spent the next 17 years unable to get around unaided and extremely frustrated, to say the least. I survived the worst and fought back to having a life, in no small part due to what I believed I could achieve as an artist.
Damage was done that the medical profession failed to address appropriately primarily because my doctor at the time considered me too fit to even bother to examine and decided that when I told him I was in the music business, I found out years later that without bothering to check it
out, he had decided I was a liar and influenced subsequent GPs to ignore me.
This allowed a severe condition to get even worse and worse. At one time I was the fastest runner in the country and then as a result of this gross medical negligence, spent 17 years unable to get around unless on crutches... otherwise dragging myself around on my stomach.

This is not a sob-story, I state it matter-of-factly, but I am sure you can appreciate it made me inexpressibly frustrated, to say the least, considering the years it robbed from me and what I believe it cost me... that which I would have achieved on the world stage as an artist.

One of the main reasons I have survived and fought back to where I am now is because such an experience gives a person far more substance, which then imbues my performance... I therefore thought that even though the mainstream record industry is not interested in this country [UK] if you are over 24 and are obsessed with manufacturing boy bands or girl bands to sell to 6 to 16 year olds, I believed that with my songwriting ability, originality and exceptional vocal range, I''d be an exception to the rule.

I am also writing a book about what I''ve been through that already has publisher interest... I learned a great deal from the experience even though I loathed every minute of it. The book, I am hoping, will get people interested
in hearing what I did and could have done as an artist and then interested in my doing more and bring me forward onto the world stage.

I am younger than George Michael, but I have to say not quite yet fighting fit, but I am getting there and will be shortly. Even though the fight I have had to put up against so much for so many years is more than can be imagined.

Further, having faced my mortality for such a long period, I could never be ‘full of myself’ so to speak, nevertheless, when I tell people what I would otherwise have achieved but for a cruel fate,I find that they initially either think I am ‘full of it’ or full of what rhymes with ‘it’. However, after listening to my songs and hearing my voice fully expressed, they tell me they now realize I was only being honest.
My songs are uniquely different one from another, but all have at some time been described as being “inspirational”, “passionately powerful” and “incredibly moving”. Many have said their Top 10 favorites of all time include at least one of my songs or covers. Even staunch afficionados and fans of Prince tell me they actually prefer my performance of Purple Rain.
My vocal style is unique because no style as such imposes itself on my vocal. The determining factor of my voice is the meaning of and feeling for the lyric. However, I am definitely a particular type of artist. Many have compared me to artists like Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, Janice Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, saying that like them, I also bare my soul/ give it my all and just lay it all out there when I perform. [Please listen in particular to the end of ‘Hard Falls the Rain”.]
To me it is incredibly moving and means everything, when I hear that people rate me so highly as a singer and performer because when all is said and done and sung, all that matters is that people like what I do. I hope you do to.
LISTEN LOUD.

My songs are in chronological order. Two about love lost [''Hard Falls the Rain'' and ''Watching the Leaves'' ... hence the rock genre and soulful blues]. Two are concerned with a heady aspiration to improve personal, one to one and world relations [''The Future is Bright'' and ''Freedom'']. One is about unrequited love [''Deep as the Ocean''], and one [''Why?''] I wrote after watching the film ''Gallipoli'' [Starring Mel Gibson]. It considers men in the World War 1 trenches moments before a whistle is to blow as the signal for them to climb out and run to their certain death headlong into a hail of bullets from machine-guns. Then there are three live covers, all of which I believe I bring something extra and make my own. Namely, greater sensitivity, power and passionate expression. They are ''Mandy'', ''Purple Rain'' and ''He Ain''t Heavy''. Finally, there is the album title song ''No More Pain''. It was written about a time or rather, a moment out of time when despite only experiencing suicidal agony, I still chose life over death.
