Details:
Conelrad is a two-piece band from Pittsburgh, PA/New York City. They take their name from a Red Scare-era government broadcast network designed to inform the public of safety procedures/imminent doom in the event of a nuclear attack.

As children of the Reagan years and the waning days of the Cold War,drummer Jeff Gretz (who has also done time in ZAO and FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES) and guitarist Adam MacGregor (formerly of CREATION IS CRUCIFIXION and MICROWAVES) settled on the name to reflect their unhealthy obsession with the inevitability of nuclear war. However, the duo eschews political commentary in their music, preferring to present that consuming feeling of paranoia as a metaphor for the "personal cataclysms" detailed in their songs.

Bored with the standard power-trio format that they had been used to for the better part of ten years, the pair decided to strip down to a "glower-duo" in early 2001. Conelrad''s outbursts comprise breakneck, thunderous, 90-second mouthfuls of ugliness that celebrate their chronic ADD, rather than dressing in pretentious math-rock drag.

Conelrad''s sonic abrasion draws as much influence from cheap wine, that familiar desolate worldview, and poor senses of self-worth as it does from a bloated collection of "prog" "free jazz" and "thrash-metal" records. In other words, this isn''t your older brother''s metal, with all of its brutaller-than-thou posturing, monotonous blast beats and gurgly growling. No, this is much more idiotic than that.

A Final Dissolution is the debut full length CD release by the band on the New Addition Media label. Named after Walter Sterner''s Dada manifesto, the album was recorded in Pittsburgh, PA by Jason Jouver (Don Caballero) and mastered by Steve Moore (Zombi). Over a year in the making, the 12 song CD is a 26 minute assault covering all the ground of human debauchery and self-loathing: drinking, sex, fashion (or lack thereof), political incorrectness and Scientology.
