Jim and Steve have performed their form of blended acoustic singer/songwriter music around Indianapolis for three years. It is hard to describe their fusion of folk, blues, bluegrass, jazz, and latin. Their finger-picking style and tight vocal harmony are quite enjoyable.
Jim Crismore has performed in a variety of styles of music including, rock, jazz, big band, folk and classical. He has performed on Guitar, Violin, Fiddle and Bass with a variety of groups. He has performed on venues with The Dirt Band, The Judds, George Jones, Jimmie Martin, Ralph Stanley and Jeff Healey. His recording credits include four albums with "Shady Grove - Steam and Grass." He has also appeared on albums with Frank Dean and Sindacato, and many other local groups. He is a Middle School Orchestra director and works as a church musician.
Steve Purcell has a Music Education degree from Indiana State University. He taught High School and Junior High Band in the 1970''s. For the last 24 years, he has worked as a district manager for Paige''s Music helping the band and orchestra programs in central Indiana be successful.
Jim and Steve believe strongly that music is for everyone. They love to perform their music. People seem to enjoy listening to their music, so they intend to continue for quite some time.
"Two Guys With Guitars" is Jim and Steve''s first release. They wrote and arranged all of the songs. Karl Bruhn, who is the soundman for Jennie DeVoe, engineers the album.
