Details:
Want something electric? Try #3."Challenger"
Want something acoustic? Try #6. Still on the Outside

The CD starts with (1.) "Revenge of the Daydreamer" , a somewhat dreamlike melody of multi-layered acoustic and electric guitars that drift away into a dissonant, heavy-handed interlude that finally comes off of the rails, then -just before hitting the ground - awakens from the dream. The second cut, (2.) "Post Concussion Syndrome" starts with an intro of acoustic and electric guitar dementia that picks up - then flashes back - to a blow-by-blow account of past collisions. The initially upbeat (3.) "Challenger"  tries to capture the the anticipation, climax, sorrow, and subsequent forging of all those who witnessed. (4.) "The Abyss" is a "call and answer" type of piece that can bring to mind an ultimate grapple, staged on the precipice of time, in which the loser spends an eternity playing the (5.) "Mutilation Blues," that follows, a tedious example of redundancy and frustration (not unlike working in a factory).

The CD then substantially shifts gears, and mood, with cut (6.) " Still on the Outside," a duet of acoustic guitars, that purveys a feeling of a longing for something that, evidently, cannot be obtained. The next cut, (7.) "Aurora Borealis" (SEVEN OF NINE) features a soundscape of surreal guitars that has an "alone on an island" type of feel. (8.) "The Last Goodbye" is another acoustic duet that builds with a tension that seems to emit a somber atmosphere of demure misgivings. The last cut, (9.) "Revenge of the Daydreamer (Reprise), reprises the initial theme of the title track with acoustical duet that gives way to a blistering, if not overanxious conclusion.

Some of these tunes were recorded at Peppermint recording studio in Youngstown, OH. Some at RixMix Sound Ideas, also in Youngstown, OH, and the rest were recorded in my home studio.
