In the fall of 2007 in Bakersfield Ca, Adam Richmond began working on songs for a project he called Dead Aisling(Pronounced “Ashleen”). By taking elements from Post-Punk, Goth, and Rock, Richmond had created a sound that would set Dead Aisling apart from everyone else. After recruiting his younger brother Luke on drums, and picking up various moonlighting bass players and guitar players, Adam took Dead Aisling on the road. In between shows Adam and Luke would drive back to Bakersfield to record what would become Dead Aisling’s first album. Recorded over the course of 3 months with Adam producing, the self-titled album stands on its own. With tribal drumming, destructive guitar noise, church organ, and an almost mechanical hum throughout most of the record, it’s obvious this is not an average “rock” record. “It’s everything i love about music, and never really have a chance to hear anymore.” Adam says. “The record has flaws; it’s very human in that way. Most of the rhythm tracks were recorded in one take, and we didn’t use a click track for most of it. It has a really heavy, dark, honest vibe.” As for the lyrics “They’re about alot of things. The central vibe of the album is the end of innocence. All the bullshit people tell you when you’re sixteen. None of it is real. You have to deal with reality sooner or later.” Adam Richmond now prepares to release the album and take the songs on the road.
