JP''s Murathi wa kihooto is a political song and the second project of JP. This cassette was recorded in 1992 as a tribute of mwai kibaki''s https://www.tradebit.comty. In his message, JP accuses the government of dictator Moi of massive corruption, jailing and killing of university students. Killing of the former minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, Dr. Robert Ouko. Detaining of political prisoners without trial and also making a lot of intellectual people to run away from Kenya and become economic refugees in foreign countries. Although the cassette had every good reception it also made him to be in the bad books of the Moi government and he had to go to hiding to evade arrest. JP, who is currently residing in USA since 1996, recorded his third CD known as Ndikwenda kigacwa in 2001.

Unlike many Kenyan musicians of kikuyu origin whom majority comes from Gatanga division in muranga district, JP was born in kamirithu sub/location in Limuru division of Kiambu district. In 1978 his father who was a matatu driver bought a five acre farm in Nyambari in Lari division, Kiambu district hence the family relocation. JP''s ambition was to became a musician hence could sing to class while the teacher was away. Because of his ambition, his friend made him a homemade guitar which he used to play around with. It was not until 1985 when Joseph kamaru with his band came to lari for performance JP befriended some of the band members. When in college JP would sneak out and would always go to river road where most Kenyan musicians hang around. This gave him a chance to meet with many musicians although no producer was willing to give him chance.

Eventually in 1986, JP recorded his first two songs Aciaria ningatho/Kahungura. In 1991 he produced his first cassette Aciaria niningatho which contained 12 songs. This was followed by murathi wa kihooto in 1992. After a very long period of silence, jp resurfaced in 2001 with his debut Ndikwenda https://www.tradebit.com far his songs has already found an international market and there have sold as far as Austria, Britain, Uganda and South Africa. JP has also featured in one of the local channel TV in https://www.tradebit.comell telecommunication cooperation. Althouh JP has had ups and downs in music he still laments very much about piracy in the music industry; those who do it are robbers who sow where they did not plant. So far JP has produced a video of Aciaria ningatho which contains 14 songs. Currently he is also making a video on Ndikwenda kigacwa to be released in summer 2003. JP is the composer, lead vocalist and producer of all his songs. He is also working on his fourth project. Long live JP, long live matata matamu stars, haapo haapo haapo haapo haapo eh. And don''t forget Bila jasho hupati ie No sweat no gain. Niuguo bye bye.
