Rozetta Marie was born and raised in Brooklyn NY where she gained all of her prior experience and training in the arts. She started out in Modern Dance with the National Dance Institute, where she performed under the instruction of Jacques D’Amboise for 4 years at venues such as Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center, and BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). While in school she also studied other forms of dance such as Jazz, Spanish, and African.
Eventually she discovered her love for music and began to pursue her career in that direction. Rozetta Marie has been going strong with her vocal and writing skills since she was 12 years old, each piece better than the last. She has performed at fashion shows, cable television shows, political events and the highlight of her career so far was performing as one of the opening acts for a Vikki Winans concert in NY. Rozetta Marie’s voice can take you from one emotion to the next and at the same time subliminally send you a message that can change your life. “I like to call them ‘Revelations’”. The resident tone in her voice mixes with a new a variety of styles, such as Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, and Gospel, which justifies her to describe herself as “Unclassified”. She can do it all and still stay on the subject of inspiring your soul.
Music is her life but she also loves to model and act on the side. “Whatever it takes to get my voice heard”. She not only speaks to us vocally, but also through her photos. When you look into her eyes it is like she is speaking right to you and pulling you into the scene with her. Her eyes are alluring, her body makes you forget what you were doing and where you are, and her smile makes you forget all of your problems.
“I was put on this earth not for myself, but for you who need a friend, a word of encouragement, or just someone who can say ‘I’ve been there too’. Everything I do is to inspire you to do even better. Every song I sing, every part I play, and every pose I strike is for a purpose that sometimes I don’t even know about until it is revealed to me. My spirit is instructed to keep striving until I reach the world, and I refuse to stop until I do. I am ‘Unclassified’ because I’m not here on just one assignment, but to make many moves in many directions ordained by God. I’ve been given many gifts and talents and stand on the word – ‘Neglect not the gift that is in thee…’”
