A native of North Carolina, trumpet player/ vocalist John Marsh was born on May 10, 1955.

After graduating from Lee Senior High School, he attended Central Carolina Community College for one year majoring in business administration.

Marsh attended Clayton State University pursuing his Associates'' Degree in Management Supervision.

After entering the U.S. Army in 1973, Marsh chose music as a profession and was subsequently sent to the U.S.

Naval School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia where he graduated in March of 1974.

His first musical assignment was with the 82nd Airborne Division Band (paratrooper) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he played lead trumpet/vocalist.

He studied Advanced Music Theory, Jazz Arranging and Improvisation.

Marsh toured a good portion of Europe in which he was utilized as a jazz and pop performer.

Marsh has versatility as a performer in pop, jazz and classical mediums.

To date, he has a total of 40 years of musical background.

His main influences have been Miles Davis,Woody Shaw, Freddie Hubbard, Frank Sinatra, Dizzy Gillespie and John Coltrane, along with Maynard Ferguson and Ella Fritzgerald ( in addition to a host of other performers ).

In addition to being featured on the radio and television in Europe, he studied in Frankfurt, Germany in June of 1986, met Joe Henderson and also performed for the Prime Minister of England, Margaret Thatcher during that time.

Marsh currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia and performs at several locations throughout the Olympic city to include Turner Field for the Atlanta Braves, Trumpet/Vocalist for the Atlanta Falcons House Band, Georgia Tech Sports as well as the majority of Country Clubs for weddings and receptions.

Most importantly, he is said to enjoy communication with people and making them happy.
