Marcie Waters-Gerbrandt is an accredited Music Therapist with a private practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Since 1994,through her work with special needs children, she is constantly looking for creative ways to help children learn various academic concepts, and this CD package was developed out of that work.
The CD itself provides 6 different activity songs, as well as "music-only" versions so that the children can sing themselves if they wish. Lyrics are intentionally simple and repetitive, to help with learning and song participation.
As well, the package comes with 17 activity cards showing numbers and colors, that are used during each song. Children find the correct colors/numbers on the cards, and move around to the music. Suggestions are given as to how adults can help children participate in different ways with each song.
This package is perfect for daycares, as the songs can be used for groups of children. As well, families will love this package, as any number of children can participate in the songs - even on an individual basis.
