Josie D. Salazar was born on February 26, 1976 in Bakersfield California. At the age of 3 she started singing. It was at the age of 12 that God had filled her with the gift of the Holy Ghost. She was also baptized in the name of JESUS CHRIST later that year.
Josie through her singing has ministered and encouraged many. In March of 2003 God had opened the doors for Josie to record her very own Album. With the help of friend
Gilbert Flores, a week later Josie had the title, general theme and songs for CD "Nobody like Jesus".
Though Josie had gone through many ups and downs in her life nothing but the hand of God would prepare her for what was to come. Later that year in September 2003 Josie was involved in an Automobile Accident. She was rear ended by a driver who was under the influence. Josie suffered major back and neck sprain and has fully recovered. Josie continued to record. The Long drives and long recordings sessions never bothered her one bit. In February of 2004 Josie was traveling back from the recording studio. She was involved in yet another Automobile Accident (one that should have taken her life).
Josie says:
I remember the vehicle hitting the embankment. I also remember trying to get back on to the road. I pulled the steering wheel to the right and in doing this, the vehicle spun and rolled three times. We landed upside down on two tractors. There was dirt and glass in our hair and eyes so it took us a while to realize which way we had landed. I was grateful to be alive! Both my passenger and I were unable to get out of the vehicle. And then all of a sudden a man from no where appeared and helped us. He pulled my passenger out first and then he pulled me out. When I turned to thank him he was gone. He was a shadowed image to us. We did not see his face but know he was an angel sent to us by God. I knew Gods hand of protection was upon us! And there was no doubt in my mind that His purpose was not yet fulfilled in my life! My passenger suffered minor cuts and scrapes and major back and neck pain. I suffered a broken rib, bruises, neck & back pain and bruising to my right shoulder. I truly serve an AWESOME GOD!
Josie recovered from the accident and was back in the recording studio in July of 2004. Giving all praise unto to God the Album was just about finished. Josie had finished her vocal recordings so there was minor work still left to do. In January of 2005 Josie was struck with bells palsy. This was one of the hardest times in her life. Her speech and smile was impaired. If you know Josie she loves to smile and loves to sing! Through her smile she would express Joy and through her singing she would offer praises of thanksgiving unto the Lord. It was one more obstacle she had to endure. Through out this time Josie has written two more songs "No one can love you like Jesus" and "I know you love me". She is now completely healed from bells palsy and continues to sing.
This album is not just another Album. This is a testimony of Josie''s life and where God has brought her from. Her songs are not just words. They too are Josie''s testimony.
