It''s The Afro Blast

This 11 song compilation is the igniting blast of the new era. This new era started the first quarter of 2005 with the completion of this album. It marks a 20 year struggle with production, recording, and misc studio techniques in aquiring a sound that the people would respond too. It is here! The quality of production and artistry has finally come up to the level of the masters. This is a classic album that will be loved for decades.

Is Though - On this track Johnny Afro comes to grips with the reality of how people perceive me. I am an artist of the purest nature. No Gimmicks... I am what I am, "you only are what you is though"
The listener will blast this track and find themselves in emotional situations realizing and chanting..."You are what you is though is the chorus".

Afro Blast - This is the title track and the moniker and tone of the album. It''s the Blast - Now is the time - The take off. Just like a rocket launching on a mission. The explosive catalyst of Johnny Afro into eternal hip hop history. In this track and throughout the album you will hear the confessions and thoughts of a true genious. When the missing ingredients come together the chemistry of this phat bass pounding beat with the insinuatingly aggressive chorus will have you convinced that...It''s The Afro Blast!

The Title - On a trip out to Las Vegas for a bizness deal put together by DJ Touch Master Easy Lou (Members Only Crew). I had stayed with DJ Spicey Ice (City Wide, Krazy Toons). I ran into DJ Spicy Ice''s cousin Etone. I hung out with Etone for a day and we ended up in the studio. He let me hear some of the tracks he was producing and I said let me hear one I can take. He played a bunch of his beats from his Itunes library where there was a track that had no name. In the list it just said "The Title" as if it should be named there.
Etone clicked the track and the most amazingly dope beat I had heard in some time blasted out of the system.
I called the song "The Title" and persisted to write about this joint venture between Etone and I Johnny Afro that will set the hip hop world a blaze. Yes yall, we have taken the title....."Cheer for the champ let''s hear it for the champ..." Orchestral beat, well organized and spontaneous, 1 take recording.

Sizzle Lean Mean - This isn''t the track that the others find most popular on my album but I like it a lot which is why you have the bonus track of Sizzle Lean Mean (remix) as track 11. It reminds me of the type of music I made as a child. Weird synthizer highs that sound Egypt like or erie that really defines the song more than the beat. The lyrics are feelings, experiences, hopes, and thoughts much like most of my albums. Sizzle Lean Mean is inspired by the Sizzlers I used to play with by Mattel, the Sizler restaurants I used to eat at and Sizzle implies it''s hot. So I gots to let yall know I''m hot and mean....don''t'' try to touch this....Sizzle Lean Mean.
"Luck has a spurt finish up with hard work".

How We Do - This track was produced by Frank Tebo (https://www.tradebit.com a world renown bassist. We have done work together as the T-fro Connection. (Tebo-Afro mixed together). This beat is world class in production arrangement quality and performance. I think I am fortunate to have one of Tebo''s best beats ever. This track is just a story about "How We Do". You will definitely enjoy this track over and over for years to come.

Hard Headed - You know the title, you know how your boy is...."Hard Headed look at these knots I got, some say my head is harder than a rock" I''m a Taurus yall it''s my nature to be stubborn. This trunk rattling perfect hitting bass throwin beat was produced by Raggedy Andy. This is one of several tracks he''s done for me over the years. All of them have gotten me recognition. This track is the underground epitome of the album. The true heads all relate to being hard headed and kind different or outcast to the masses. This song reflects the episodes of Johnny Afro as he trys to manuver through life. This track is reflective of the underground genious that it performed and produced by. These two met at KZSU 90.1 FM the Stanford University radio station as underground dj''s almost 9 years ago.

Funk Me Baby - Inspired by Biggie''s " Going Back To Cali" I decided if this girl flakes on my I''ll sing my own chorus...She flaked, thus you have Johnny Afro in the hook. I was really trying to get that old school accessible flavor and have real singing to try and attract the r&b crowd for a song. But artist can be unreliable at times so to finish the album I had to make do my self. This song is kinda a beg for sex I deserve sex from you baby song. Not really but that kinda sums it up in some sort of metaphysical abstract way. You try it....

Kdub Demo - Beat by Kdub a former roommate who came around and played on my equipment so I decided to freestyle and put whatever came out on the album. So if this isn''t some spontaneous creative joint I don''t know what is. That''s why I left it as a demo. We may end up doing a real track together whenever...

Catch Wreck - Taking the tempo up a bit. This track is one I like but I think it will do better overseas than in the mass marketing dominated vibes of the U.S. Over hear songs that deviate don''t do so well from unknown artist. I think some of my most experimental songs do better in Europe, Africa, & Asia.

Very Funny (Don''t Stop) - Inspired by the Wu Tang influenced Man chu (sp?). while they were performing at Stanford University Radio there dat kept skipping and one of the members kept telling the other "Don''t Stop" so that the show could go on. It was a great show at that. Sometimes in life things ain''t that funny but you got to keep striving so....." Don''t Stop"

I hope you enjoy this album as much as I do. I''ve played it over and over hundred of times or more. I am truly my favorite rapper, dj, and producer. Look out for these albums...."Follow The Intructions", "Knock It Out", I Ain''t Playin'', all produced in first quarter 2005! It''s the Afro Blast!
