Encouraged to pursue his talent, Justin headed for Los Angeles in the summer of 2001, hoping to encounter career opportunities and as fate would have it a week later he received a phone call asking him to come back to Chicago to co-create Vi3, a new group managed by Justin''s long time friend and confidant, B96 Chicago Music Director Erik Bradley. In just under two years, Vi3 accumulated more success than most groups obtain in a lifetime. They became an overnight sensation in the Midwest, quickly signing with MCA Records and landing a Levi''s sponsorship. Their first single, "Go-Get-Her" written by Justin, debuted at number one on Chicago''s SoundScan charts and hit number one on B96 Chicago, the most listened to radio station between New York and L.A. With a rather impressive resume and the support of his manager, Justin returned to his roots and decided to pursue his initial dream as a solo artist. Drawing inspiration from musicians that have perfected their craft, such as Michael Jackson, Prince, R. Kelly, Brian McKnight, Tupac, Twista, Bon Jovi, and Journey, J. Roman emerged stronger and more determined than ever.
In addition to having shared the stage with Britney Spears, Nelly, Christina Aguilera, B2K, P. Diddy, LL Cool J, Missy Elliot, Snoop Dogg, Backstreet Boys, O Town, Jagged Edge, Shakira, and Simple Plan, to name a few, J. Roman also headlined two Seventeen/ JC Penny mall tours around the country, and in 2003 four-time award winner J. Roman was named song writer of the year at the Chicago Music Awards.
With an ever growing desire to expand his horizons, J. Roman has recently added on-dash air radio personality to his list of credits with the Stylez & Roman radio show on B96, one of the top radio stations in the country. Amazingly enough, amidst non-stop touring, radio, and promotion, Justin is able to sustain a balance by always keeping his goals in perspective and constantly maintaining a strong relationship with his fans.
