John Sid, a New York City native, pays homage to the masters of new and old, and credits such dynamic artists as Chris Cornell and Ian Gillan as being influential to his vocal direction. John''s concise, economical approach to song form and arranging and his reverence for melody are rooted in the work of The Beatles as well as the early material of Yes and Genesis. The heavier elements in John''s music can be attributed to the influence of System of a Down, Tool, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden and Meshuggah, while John''s experimental bent is evident in every song. Although well educated in the traditions of the guitar, John is never afraid to venture into new territory and utilizes alternate tunings and a flexible array of equipment as a cornerstone of his sound.
