Subject: Bio on Jackson Slade

This Florida Native out of Jacksonville is a self-taught musician; however, he did go to North Texas State University after an Uncle Sam commitment to open some areas of musical discipline.
After Uncle, he returned to Gainesville Florida and worked in theatre as a master carpenter building sets. He recalls this adventure was great fun! Being around talented people is very inspiring, according to Jackson, and theatre folks are a wild bunch. " Much of my material was gathered through observations of these immediate surroundings".

Moved to Nashville in ''93, and has lived through the writers night limbo off and on since. Two years of this settlement has been devoted however to focusing on the future, a new CD release, "River of Gold".
Although officially released July of ''99 the actual print date was fall of ''98. This album took awhile coming to the surface. It was on and off again, due to the unfortunate habit of having to eat and dwell.

His first record, "Moonrise Project", was a completely self-played, self-produced album, done in 8 tracks, had some real heart. Released on the same label in ''91,and is about to be released fall of 2001, but some cuts will soon be available on the net. Pulling partly from his country roots, he laughingly calls "Country & Eastern" and his love for jazz, he set out to create his own unique sound. He''s carried this same approach into this new CD "River of Gold" with some great help from producer Kevin Wicker.

Jackson has a new CD completed, titled "Wet Dog" and is planning a jazz album in the near future, while looking to Europe for his debut tour. England and France have given "River of Gold" a great send off, and now, most recently Sweden.

His love for music has given him the determination to venture in all styles of music as well as multi-instruments. Alto sax is his first love, guitar second, flute third, and keyboards are slowly becoming a favorite. Jackson likes to write so that he can at least incorporate these various instruments in his music.

This belief in the future of his music keeps Jackson always striving to be fresh with his approach to every song he writes. We feel this future is bright.
