To hear the feeling, the words the raw emotion that is in Justin Black''s music would leave most wondering where this all comes from but to hear his story you find that it all starts to make sense. A drummer for 10 years before his current singer songwriting era Justin was in the now critically acclaimed band AMEN where he learned the about music industry inside and out things were on a roll when tragedy struck on the way home from a show Justin felt a sharp pain in his back, thinking he might have pulled a muscle on stage he ignored it for a week until the pain was unbearable. He drove himself to the hospital where doctors found he had a collapsed lung. After two failed surgeries to fix the lung there was no choice and doctors decided to remove it. Strike one against becoming a powerful singer in the future. Still Justin fought to recover and returned to AMEN to play another few years behind the drums all the while writing and playing guitar for his future plans. Finally leaving AMEN and LA to pursue just that Justin ended up in Seattle WA. when in the spring of 2002 he entered the studio with award winning producer Brent Derocher to record a 5 song EP appropriately title Five From The Inside. The EP would was an amazing starting point for Justin and helped him find his voice that had been hiding inside for so many years. When Five From The Inside was complete what was captured was raw and unbridled emotion, a recording that would
be nothing less than classic Justin Black.

After finishing the EP. Justin had the songwriting fever and immediately returned to the studio to record a full length CD that would take his sound to a whole new level, an almost instant evolution. 5 songs into the CD the black
cloud rolled in again. Justin was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer where doctors told him they would have to perform surgery on his throat that may result in him never singing again. Justin went into the studio immediately to finish vocals on 7 songs before having no choice but to go in for surgery in January of 2003. After two surgeries, radiation therapy and four months of recovery Justin has beaten the odds again. With his voice back in full effect he has returned to the studio to finish his 10 song epic titled "A Million Reasons" He has also written an entire new CD that he promises to be the his most Inspired and epic songwriting thus far and with a story like this and the scars to prove it, is it any wonder.
