In 2002, I performed solo the first 10 songs (as recorded) on an acoustic guitar in a small club in Sochi, Russia. While rehearsing, I came upon the idea of starting the set in the first position (open neck). By the last song, the capo placement progressed to the 3rd fret. "The Waitress" was written in the summer of 2003 (capo 4th fret).
"Inside Your Mind" was the first song I wrote. As a whole, the CD''s collection is acoustically driven with the emphasis on lyrics, vocal harmonies, and guitar interplay. The violin adds soulful or playful melodies. The stories are mostly autobiographical in nature.
Although I finished recording "Inside Your Mind" in September 2003, I decided to release it after "Out of Alignment" (June 2004). By changing studios and musicians, new sounds were created.
