Sunday Radio stems from the musical aspirations of songwriter and instrumentalist Zong Gu (Buffalo, New York). Zong began making music during the tail-end of a Biotechnology and Pharmacology B.S. at the University at Buffalo. Inspired by various Indie-rock and Electronica artists and during an 8-month educational hiatus before business school, Zong meshed together bright keys, fluid synthesizers, airy guitars, and somber vocals to create a heavily electronic-pop driven sound with a healthy mix of indie-rock.
Pulling melodic inspiration from artists Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) and Mike Kinsella (Owen, American Football) and instrumental influence from electronic collaborations Röyksopp and The Postal Service, Sunday Radio’s striking melodies, airy instrumentals, and ambient atmospheres produce an unforgettable sound.
