One small piece of wood is made into two interconnected rings. I had never carved wood before but it involved trying to visualize the dimensions before the first carve. My music comes so freely for me and it is not until I am listening to sermons, reading scripture or being a witness of is His love, that when the words finally come to me, I have to carve them carefully into the music. I hope you enjoy this fifth collection of songs.
A little bit about the songs. I created all of them except for "Friends", I created the music around lyrics that were written by Destiny Perez. She is a young lady that had written this poem to Jason Burgess, a great friend and true fan of mine. He asked me if I would create music around the poem so he could give it back to her for Valentines day. When I wrote the song, it came so naturally and this recording is not far from the original rough draft version that took only a few minutes.
As I read the words, I thought of Jason, as my friend and then about Jason and Destiny as young adults and how innocent their friendship is at that age. I then thought of my friendships that I had as a young adult and how there are only a few that have made it through the years and many more that came and went. I then thought how throughout life there is one true friend that is with us from the beginning, . . .just let His love in!
