Singer/songwriter Kathy Sanborn is the founder of Organic Protest Music. She says, “People ask me how to describe Organic Protest Music. It’s music that sounds like the performer is singing right there in your living room. It’s authentic. Organic Protest Music doesn’t have a lot of frills, but it has a lot of heart and soul. The lyrics are about important topics like peace activism and social conscience. The music offers natural instead of artificial ingredients. Ever eat an organic peach? Then you know what I mean.”
Sanborn’s new CD, Peaceful Sounds, exemplifies the Organic Protest Music genre to a tee. The album dives into controversial subjects including war, poverty, and homeless veterans, all in a jazz-pop style that, Sanborn says, “hits you in the gut with honesty.”
The album''s fourteen original songs range from four jazzy instrumentals to ten powerful jazz-pop vocals covering topics from love to peace.
Tracks 2 and 10 are sung in Spanish, showcasing Sanborn''s flair for the jazz-pop Latin beat.
