Details:
Known by various titles throughout the years (K.A.S.H., Stillborn the Massive, and the most current, K. Banger), the Aquarian-born Keith K. Salandy is a standout for his dynamic presence in the local Perth Amboy, New Jersey Hiphop community.

With about sixteen years of rhyming experience, K. makes the move to spread his solo endeavors abroad.

Performance and recording is nothing new to this Trinidad and Tobago native.

Local shows, parties, and showcases were the early venues for K., along with making homemade hip hop tracks in basements and backyard shacks.

K. performed for his first time in Elizabeth, New Jersey when he was fourteen years old—alone.

Too young to even be in the club that was called The Palace, the promoters allowed the young and eager man to perform and discovered a first place winner in their talent search contest.

This led to another performance at The Palace and the Elizabeth High School Athletic Center, one of the largest gymnasiums in New Jersey, where K. (known as K.A.S.H. at the time) opened up for hot artists such as George LaMond and Nice & Smooth.

Venues where K. Banger has performed to date in New Jersey include Birch Hill, Club Bene, The Vault, Crossroads Theater, Chapter One Café, The Court Tavern, Herman''s Corner & Flamingo''s (local clubs in Perth Amboy, NJ where K. has played as a percussionist and has organized for open mic sessions), Club Zanzabar, and the Robert Treat Hotel.

In New York, S.O.B''s, Nuyorican Poet''s Café, CBGB''s, Club 101 on 7th Avenue, Club Speed, Wetland''s, Baby Jupiter, The Bottom Line, Downtime, and NYU, where K. has opened up for the tap dance sensation Savion Glover.

Other venues include "All That" open mic in Philadelphia, various clubs in Atlanta, and more—as an MC and a percussionist for Hiphop, open mic, and reggae shows.

In addition to onstage performance, K. enjoys local celebrity by giving interviews and having tracks played on 88.7 FM and 90.3 FM—two radio stations located at Rutgers University, the state college of New Jersey.

As a result, K. Banger has been charting CMJ magazine for spins on 90.3 The Core FM for over 4 weeks and counting.

Other stations that are buzzing the sounds of K. Banger include 91.9 FM in Long Island (The Wondertwinz radio show), WPNT in the Bronx, and who knows where else.

With downloads available on https://www.tradebit.com, https://www.tradebit.com, and underground tracks leaking worldwide via https://www.tradebit.com, the music of K. Banger is reaching far and wide! Alongside performances and self-promotion, K. has managed to get on commercial album releases as well.

In 1996, K. Banger (known as Still at the time, and even today) made his debut album appearance with his high school friend Miilkbone on a song called "Murder Verbs" (Capitol Records) with various MCs.

K. would also meet up with Subverse Music recording artists Scienz of Life in 1999 to record "Ghettoz tah Galaxies" for their underground debut album while performing as the group''s percussionist for many shows in New York and Atlanta.

Being on the Intagalactic Entertainment and DJ Knowledge mix tapes also added a little more buzz to K. Banger''s up and coming name status.

K. is currently on Miilkbone''s new album and single "A Few Good Men" (XCaliber Entertainment/WEA) with Hiphop veteran Tame One and Motown''s Chop Diesel.

The video is due to air on BET and other channels as well, with the new album (released April 17, 2001) already in stores.

Banger is also a studying musician that has acquired the skills of reading and writing music through classical and jazz piano, and various percussion instruments.

By attending private lessons in his hometown and Boy''s Harbor music school for boys and girls in Spanish Harlem, K. has learned a wealth of information about jazz, classical, and Latin music, thus broadening his horizons in Hiphop culture.

In fact, K. was accepted into the Berkley College of Music in Boston after only one year''s experience with Latin percussion instruments.

An impressive achievement.

As one of the owners of an up and coming independent label called The Dirt Department, in addition to his many other accomplishments, the outcome is clear—K. Banger is destined to be one of the greats in Hiphop and all genres of music.

Producers with whom K. Banger has worked with include Mufi (U.N.I.T.Y.—the gold single by Queen Latifah), The Wooze (producer for V2 Records), Nick Wiz (Shabaam Sadiq, Kool G Rap, Chino XL, Cypress Hill), Chop Diesel (Motown Records), Lil Scienz & ID 4 Windz of Scienz of Life (Subverse Music) and fresh talent such as Mark Amir, H. Black, Theory of PHD, and DJ Knowledge.

We can''t forget engineers like Mike Davis (Bad Boy Entertainment, Nas), and P.E. Stickland III (better known as Palm Pictures recording artist "Elwood").

And although we''re waiting for the screening to make sure, it looks like K. will be making an appearance in "Word" by Tony Films, which is a Hiphop documentary that will be distributed oversees within the next year.

Keep an eye out for this up and coming talent!
