LATSON4LIFE RECORDS started in 2000. By being interviewed by several major labels such as Violator, J Records, Death Row and Interscope, without success, the label owner and CEO Knowledge Bey, chose to start his own label L4L Records.
KNOWLEDGE HAS BEEN WRITING AND PRODUCING SINCE THE AGE OF 11. HE STARTED FROM RECORDING WITH TWO TAPE PLAYERS AND A MIC, RECORDING HIS MATERIAL OVER INSTRAMENTALS. ALL THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL HE DOMINATED TALENT SHOWS AND AROUND HIS HOME TOWN OF SYRACUSE NY. IN THE 10TH GRADE, KNOWLEDGE CAME OUT WITH A CASSETTE SINGLE. AS THE YEARS MOVED ON WITH NO RECORD DEAL OR NOTICE, HE STARTED BUYING EQUIPMENT AND DUPLICATORS DOING HIS OWN GUERILLA MARKETING.
