Young Chazz Is known for his flow, range, smooth-mellow singing voice and socially aware lyrics. He can blend street, popular, and conscious music while making it relevant and relatable. Young Chazz’s highly anticipated album, Growing Painz, is slated for a late summer release. The album mixes the trials and tribulations of life with politics, anthems, and fun.

Born in St. Louis Mo, Young Chazz grew up in the “Looney Block” neighborhood of University City in St. Louis. Chazz was raised by his mother Pandora Blakley, and visited with his father,Charles Murphy frequently throughout his childhood. Although Chazz had a balance of good parenting, he also had and appetite for trouble. The result is that Young Chazz was frequently in and out of juvenile, jail, and court for fighting and trafficking.

Young Chazz was fascinated by the street life that surrounded him until his mistakes finally caught up with him, and a juvenile judge made a decision that would ultimately change his life forever. After proclaiming him to be a menace to society the judge sentenced Chazz to juvenile transitioning to jail indefinitely. This was an unforeseen blow. Chazz’s father appealed to get full custody and won, so he went to live with his father. This was an enormous transition for him. Sadly, one year later Chazz’s mom passed. He took the loss extremely hard and thus pressured himself to become the man that she always dreamed he could be.

Young Chazz attended University City High School where he excelled in sports such as football, basketball, track, and baseball. Chazz was also a very popular student, winning the titles of homecoming and prom king. It was in high school that Chazz began flirting with rap, participating in battle ciphers and freestyle sessions during lunch. However, Chazz did not take rap seriously, thinking that college and football was a better way to get ahead. He figured that his love and interests for business, management, and computers would be the vehicle to get him through college.

Blessed with his first child Ashlynn, Chazz felt that he was on top of the world. He was proud, motivated, and happy. Everything was starting to take shape, and seemed to be working out until he faced several key losses that changed his direction. First Chazz lost his brother Fatman in March 2004. After hearing Chazz featured on the St. Louis regional smash collaboration “Set It Off”, Fatman would always tell Chazz that he should pursue music as a solo artist. The collaboration topped the hip-hop charts on https://www.tradebit.com and Fatman could see the potential. The collaboration remained on the charts for seven months, and Fatman never stopped tryimg to get Chazz to focus on music.

Chazz’s life continued a downward spiral when Ashlynn’s mother Helena passed away after being comatose, and on life-support for ten and a half months. This tragedy came just one month after his brother’s untimely death. This was the major turning point in Young Chazz’s life that forced him to make a decision to focus on what he wanted to do with his future. At the time, being a single parent meant that going back to school was definitely out of the question so Chazz had to seek other alternatives.

Chazz decided that he would make music, and the business of music his career. When collaborations with 4up Entertainment never materialized he decided it was time to take matters into his own hands and step out to become his own boss, the rest is history. Chazz hooked up with his father, Charles Murphy, and they began cranking out their music. Needless to say the chemistry was unbelievable. The two later asked lifetime family friend, Rodney Biggers to join the team and they never looked back. If you really want to treat yourself to something new and refreshing be on the lookout for Young Chazz’s debut album Growing Painz, scheduled for release in August 2008.
